Its rare for a person to have more than one hamster. Yet, if a person had just one hamster they are hardly likely to ask YA how many they had, unless it was for a joke. It is possible a person had a pregnant hamster, and so is now overpopulated with the rodents, but I think a person serious about hamsters would not get themselves into such a pickle. Clearly the answer must be greater than 2 but less than a litter. I would agree with the previous poster that 3 is in the ball park.
