How does capitalism and the environment work in harmony?
Answer:
trucks transportion trash away from the ocean dumping. see my point. trash is used to make recycled materials which is sold for a profit. if its not profitable then no business is gonna go into it. if you want to make capitalism work to clean the air, then companies need to find a way to generate a revenue when sucking the carbon from the air or else theres no incentitive to do so, well the other way is to have government tax the public to get the money to fund the project. unless you want to increase taxes to do those environmental stuff i wouldnt recommend it. if you can start a business that can make money after the cost like disney or 6 flags to clean the rainforest or whatever the environmental cause is other than that then someones gonna have to pay and thats through taxes, city or state. thats how capitalism works with environment harmony.
They don't work in harmony. They are contradictions of each other.
Eventually we'll make the planet inhabitable and the planet will be able to heal itself.
Other than a small nitch of green companies it Business and the environment are like oil and water.
Well the way i see it is that traditionally they wouldn't work in harmony because spending on being environmentally friendly increases costs, decreases competitiveness etc. However, supply is demand driven and if consumers care about the environment they will prefer to purchase more environmentally friendly products, in the same way that consumers shy away from products made using child labor, or the boycott of South African goods during apartheid. The consumer is king in capitalism and if the consumer wants it companies will go green. So they'll work in harmony...if the consumer actually wants it.
