economists are a divided lot.. and there so many schools of thought in economy.. and economists dont act..
probably she has decisions (as the president) that we dont approve but that doesnt mean she isnt an economist..
but yeah whatever she's doing up there, i still dont feel anything working down here.. maybe thats whats wrong.. she believes she's doing the right thing coz she's doing things according to economic 'theoretics' but de facto, nothing seems to be changing..
therefore maybe, something somewhere might be amiss.. who..? what..? i dunno.. but as the executive head, she should know what is hampering the execution of her theoretical economics..
haai.. there is still hope for this nation..

Give her a chance. Do yOu think Filipinos have a better choice? If there are? What are their credentials? Will they be a better economist? 2010 is coming soon.. In the meantime, lets make the Phillipines a better place to live by.
Let me start this by saying that I am not Pro GMA. nOW to address your question. Yes she is acting as an economist. In economics there are bitter pills to swallow. The implementation of VAT is one. If she went with the clamor NOT to implement VAT we will not have a stronger currency, and deficit can be much higher. Yes many are affected but if in the long run it can help then by all means let all filipinos tighten their belts.
The creation of super regions, this is an idea that is based on economic fundamentals. how you ask? Philippines being an archipelago, is now being linked together by infrastructures built that would eventually create these super regions. Furhtermore, it will distribute wealth to those areas.
previous to the implementation on the increase of vat, she tried to pump prime the economy by builidng farm to market infrastructures. Unfortunately this did not really had an impact on the over all economic bottom lines.
Politically, would you prefer some other president to replace here right now? In my opinion. there is nobody, unless you want the wife of FPJ, or you want the dumbass ERAP again? I had enough, let us stick with GMA until 2010. few more years. Her programs are good, economics wise. Whats killing us is corruption not the ideas presented to improve economy.
Believe me, as a businessman since 1993, I have been thru the best and the worst. Between the worst and GMA, I prefer to stick it out with GMA until 2010.
Remember in most economic principles or theories, it is always for the good of the country, of the commoners, and of the business establishments. Economics in the long run takes care of the unfortunate ones by improving the over all "Economy". We just have to stay there,stay afloat and just swallow this bitter pill
