There's only two supercomputers? Where did you hear that? There's a research firm (Macroeconomic Advisors LLC) that owns one. The Fed owns several.
Defense programming is generally done using Ada, which is a bit parity language and therefore incompatible with Macs, so I'd surmise IBM clones are used.
I bet its a mac.
