Most smokers wil not quit. Anyway the US dropped from 41% to 21% smoking according to one source and it isn't a big factor for us it is a drag..cigarettes are imported- so currency flows will improve...the Government always finds a way to tax so don't worry about them. The cigarette tax falls disproportionately on poorer people compared to income tax etc so almost any replacement will be more equal and that is generally thought better for overall market performance...

Some economic "collapses" correct themselves when not chronic as all the assets like pubs that go out of business get flogged dirt cheap to other companies to do something .. lets hope its original with.
