Is it possible that the gasoline prices are so high because ?

the oil companies fear the republican administration won't be reelected and they're making as much profit as they can now, before the next election.

Answer:
That theory certainly is interesting. I wonder if it has validity.
they are making 20-30 cents per gallon.
No, Democrats can't change things either. Believe it or not the reason Gas Prices are so high are more because of Democrats then Republicans. We have less than half the refineries working then we did 26 years ago. Oil refineries hurt the environment in saying that the Democrats feel better to pay more for gas then to open up new refineries. If we had the refineries we did in 1981 we would still be paying a dollar a gallon. so it's up to us open more refineries and hurt the environment that much more or pay these prices and keep the damage as minimal as possible. I fight for higher miles to the gallon. But the way I also feel is that cars today get 3 times more gas mileage so we are really paying about the same for the same mileage
You hit it right on the head. That is absolute real reason why gas prices are so high. Factor in the war and there are just too many coincidences.
