Does anyone out there have to read High Noon 20 Global Problems and 20 Years to Solve them for 9th Grade?

Apparently my school is testing on this for placement in which level of course you should be in, but how do they test us on this? It feels like fact after fact and are we supposed to remember all that? Anyone out there struggling to get through this book also?
