Which nation is the richest in natural resources...?

and yet IMPORTS food, oil, etc., its corporations employing call center personnel in countries that pay $1-$2 an hour, then its national news media reports on its high unemployment rate?
This question should prompt some outrage.

Answer:
Yes, the correct answer is the U.S. The U.S. has probably more natural resources than any other country, but we also need more than any other country because of our huge economy. US farmland is greater in size and quality than any other country. The US is the third largest producer of oil after Russia and Saudi Arabia. But the US is by far the largest consumer of oil and thus has to import more than half of its needs. I think that the US is the second largest miner of coal after China and the US has vast reserves of coal that can be mined in the future. The US mines many other minerals such as copper, gold, silver, lead, etc. The US is dependent on other countries for some minerals including platinum and titanium which have not yet been discovered in the US.
A Really Big One.
