Why do you think anthropologists think that knowing about a the basic economy (livelihoods) and social structure (kinship) can help us to undrestand more about a society's culture? In other words how are economy and social structure related to a culture?

The three fundamental economic questions are : what to produce: how to produce: and who shall receive what is produced. Advanced societies rely on the market structure and the powers of supply and demand to answer these questions. Freedom of choice is critical here. Other societies chose to have their government play a key role in how these questions are answered. There are still may nations who rely on tradition to answer such questions. Ours is a mixed economy where we see involvement by both the private sector markets and the public sector government.
