Why does the government put "In God We Trust" on US currency?
Because they can't trust themselves? Why?
Answer:
You need to grab a history book on America. That will explain why those people let England and came here. They wanted freedom of religion. GOD is the only one and that is why "In GOD WE TRUST" is printed on all money. Without GOD, America is just crap. Thank you and GOD bless.
cause Christians (who believe in GOD) founded our country and blessed him and TRUSTED him through the winter that HE would provide them with food and shelter. the people TRUSTED GOD for everything!!
Because the powers to be wanted to immediatley dis-assemble the constitutional mandate for the seperation of church and state. It seems that superstitous people who believe in gods, ghosts, spirits, magic, astro-projection, etc, will always have a stranglehold on the basal things of our society...beginning with money.
It was actually a new thing printed on money in the 1950's due to the fear of Communism which incorporates Atheism. They also did it to the plague of allegiance by adding god to it. Other than that it's just a worthless saying. America is about freedom to believe whatever you want. Putting one belief in politics can offend many. That's why we have separation of church and state but, sometimes it seems questionable.
How about "Novus Ordo Seclorum"(New world order) on the dollar bill now that's a fun story.
The reason they put the "In God We Trust" on the currency because the country was founded on a christian belief in God. The statue of liberty has versus from the Bible inscribed in its steps. The supreme court has a verse from the Bible inscribed behind the judge. The country was founded in Christianity, but now the liberalist's are trying to take God out of our foundation which is the only thing keeping this country alive.
