I ride them all the time and I'm fine. I have a 3.9 GPA in fact.
If there is pressure on your neck (if it whiplashes back), then the bloodflow to your brain can get interrupted. You can have a stroke, or get dizzy and confused. You can crack one of your higher-up vertebraes.
And that's not so good for your brain.
Multiple recent independent studies have found that riding a roller coaster is not harmful to those in good health. One study was financed by Six Flags Inc. while another was conducted by Ed Markey. The later was a man who wanted to show that roller coasters were not safe and even his study showed otherwise.
It scrambles your brain.
