What is the clear oil called inside Oil Pressure Gauges
I need to know if this can be bought and what it is called to replace 4 pressure gauges with the oil and new grometts

Answer:
*It depends upon the working condition for selecting the oil.
Please read below:
*Glycerin filled:
-20 Degrees centigrade to 60 Degrees centigrade;
*silicone filled:
-40 Degrees centigrade to 60 Degrees centigrade .
*Liquid filled gauges help absorb vibration and pressure spikes, increasing the service life of the gauge. Glycerine is the standard fill fluid and provides the best performance in most applications. Silicone has a low viscosity and works well when extreme temperature fluctuation or icing is expected.
I think the oil is silicon based
Glycerine.
Either of the answers so far could be right (if you replace silicon with silicone) but glycerin seems to be by far the most common, silicone oils might be used for very low temperature or some other special conditions.
These are strong, generally Bourdon-tube gauges with Glycerine filled cases.
They are used for pressure ranges from high Vacuum to up to 1000 atmospheres pressure.
Used in situations where condensation and/or vibration ...etc. may affect their operation.
