How to make a bike/somthing, into a generator, or info sites.?
Answer:
route the induced emf through a electrolytic cell, so as to store the current into chemical potential energy in chemicals. you can develop a compact dry cell using alkaline paste, or just buy a rechargeble battery and recharge it using your bike pedal. be sure to adjust your current properly using a potentiometer or battery will be messed up
Only way to store electricity is with a battery unless you want somehow to use the generator to electrolyse water and store the hydrogen. You can only store DC so anything which requires an AC power supply will have to be powered through an inverter. All standard stuff on yachts. Bank of 12 v batteries charged with whatever, solar panels, wind genny etc then an inverter to produce the mains AC voltage for the TV and other stuff.
Just connect your bike to a decent alternator off an old car or truck and youve almost got it made.
It seems the power would need come from batteries that the generator recharges?
That is all I can think of, other than direct power which would mean to watch TV you would need to pedal your bike the whole show.
Here is an article by a local journalist. Pedal operated generators have been around a long time. You will need a deep-cycle battery to store the power generated by the pedals. You can only get a hundred or so watts from pedaling unless you are very fit.
