Can sponge resist heat?

I just want to ask if artificial sponges can resist heat? If so, is it safe if I put a sponge underneath or beside the passage way wherein the heat from the laptop goes out?

Answer:
I have heard of people soaking and then heating their sponges in the microwave to until they steam to sterilize them. Viscose cellulose sponges should stand up to the heat from a laptop. Not sure what kind of plastic the open cell foam filter stuff is typically made of, but it will probably work unless the air coming out is really uncomfortably hot.
Live sponge? Like any other living organism, it depends on how much heat you are talking about. All have their tolerance beyond which the organism dies. Artificial sponge? Depends on the material. I suggest a felt pad if you want a soft surface.
No. Glass fibre (looks like sponge) can be used as a heat resistance.
every organism have limitations to live in if these limitations or conditions are unsuitble for living so it affect on growth then its life but here spong have small or primitive endoskeleton like spines that protect itself fron environmental conditions and natural enemies so high heat may kill sponge
