It all depends in which college you study civil engineering..
Colleges which arrange campus interview and give 100% placement should be selected for doing civil engineering. You can't expect salary that are being paid for software engineers on completion of there engineering degree..You should try to get into a good construction company like L&T( ECC division) or any other similar company for getting good pay..Any way all the best. Nothing can be predicted what is going to happen 4 years latter when you complete the course... GOD be with you
ok so whats ur question??u shud b given question in details so that it would b easy, anyways this branch is very good,it has lots of scope and no need to worry about it., now a days in foriegn countries they r in search of civil engineers,they lack civil engineers..there r few civil engineers but job aspects r more..all branches r good but in which ur interested just go for it..dont worry about scope,today civil engineering might have scope,might b tomorrow electrical engineering..we cant just say anything about engineering,there r lots of chances but all branches has scope..if u keep thinking about its scope than its difficult..b stable and go in a branch which ur intrested...

It sucks and you don't get paid crap compare to the crap you have to go through and compared to other types of engineers and other types of professions. Hence why I got out of Civil Engineering, now I look at my colleagues that stayed in Civil Engineering and 95% of them are still unhappy and overworked and make less than I do.
