Math problem?
A.)3gal/$14.32=8gal/$5.37
B.) 3gal/$5.37=8gal/$14.32
C.) 3gal/$5.37=$14.32/8gal
D.)3gal/8gal=$14.32/$5.32
Answer:
B
b
But it would be clearer if it were $5.37/3 = $14.32/8 giving you a dollars per gallon figure on each side of the equal sign
i would say B also just divide
B
B.
Now divide $5.37 by 3 , it will be written $5.37/3 or 537/1 divided by 3. The same for 8 gallons and $14.32 to find out how much 1 gallon of gas costs.
b
Try this one...
If 500 gallons of gas equals 2500 than 600 gallons equals 3000.
A. 500/2500 600/3000
B. 500/3000 600/2500
C. 500/600 2500/3000
D. I have no clue.
A.
C
B. 3gal/$5.37 = 8gal/$14.32
also... 3gal/8gal = $5.37 /$14.32
I think the best way to understand how to solve this problems is to write it in lines like text:
3 gallons = $ 5,37 ("3 gallons of gasoline cost $5.37")
8 gallons = $14,32 ("8 gallons will cost $14.32")
now when divide "in line" you get the same value 3/5,37 = 8/14,32
And also when multiply "in cross" 3*14,32=8*5,27
So correct answer is B
if 3 gallons are for $ 5.37
then 8 gallons are for $ 14.32
cross multiply :) and you get B
