Step up voltage transformer?

looking for a dc 12 volt step up transformer. i can not find one on the internet. i asking if you would help me search the internet for one. first one to post a link with this will get the points. needs to step up to a maxmium of 96.

Answer:
You didn't specify the current. Assuming very low current, you can use a 110 to 12 volt transformer backwards.
You need 96 VDC? For what? How many amperes draw?
You cant step up DC with a transformer alone. You have to convert it to AC. Go to National Semiconductor and look for chips that will do this.
Barney has a good point. DC and Transformer don't work together. You will need to make it AC first. If you want to spend a few bucks, try searching on the topic of "DC-to DC converters". Nice little pieces of pre-made electronics that do the whole job of DC to AC, change voltage, then AC back to DC. Common item in electronics and, depending on your power requirements, not very expensive. Check the Jameco catalog.
