LED question. Does lowering the current of the LED change the wavelength?

This question is similar to the Proton LED engineer in Lyons GA, but I am curious about lowering the current to where it almost fades out.

Answer:
No, only the brightness changes.
No, it just reduces the intensity/brightness. LEDs put out an extremely consistent wavelength of light.
No, wavelength is unrelated to current... or voltage. Just the intensity would change..

The cool thing about this is that it is an example of quantum mechanics that traces all the way back to Einstein and the photoelectric effect.

Scientists noticed that when you shined more light on a photocell, you didn't get more voltage. But they did find that voltage changed if they changed the wavelength.

100 years later, we can build an LED that has only one quantum state... so you can't easily get different wavelengths by using different voltages... instead, you might burn out the LED

(However, there are variable wavelength LEDs...)
