What do aeronautical engineers do?
Answer:
clean room enviroment, making parts for planes, such as wings
in short they keep the plane your flying in up there
These are the people who work on space shuttles, airplanes, and things like that. They make sure the crafts can withstand the temperatures and pressures they are under, that the machines are aerodynamic, and things of that sort.
the aim of the aeronautical engineer is to design any air-borne devices(airplanes,rockets,heli... hovercraft)and non-air-borne devices(space shuttles). The aeronautical engineers are very intelligent, and they must have a good background in advanced mathematics and physics. They are designated by the aerodynamic science which is one of the most difficult sciences ever.
omarshukry was pretty close with their answer. Bottom line is that aeronautical engineers design things that fly. They generally work in an engineering office enviornment usually working on computers to aide in the design process. There are numerous sub-categories of aeronautical engineering so you can find one that best fits what you like to do. For example, some work on the structural design of the vehicle, other the shping of the fuselage and wings, others the propulsion system, etc. It is a very diverse field.
First of all, engineers don't actually "make" things, rather they figure out how they should be designed, fabricated, and operated.
As for everyday tasks, that depends a great deal on the specific position. Jobs can vary from managing projects, which would be more paperwork and clerical with a great deal of communication, to performing detailed calculations using computation tools. Aeronautical engineers can range from doing orbital calculations, to fluid flows, to thermodynamics of turbojets, to aircraft structural design, to control systems for aircraft, and so on.
My job is a little of everything. I manage several projects at a time. At the same time, I use computers to design and analyze designs. My work focuses on structures, fluid flows, and some thermal analysis. I'm always communicating with other engineers so it keeps things interesting.
My day could be hours of simulations to a few meetings, phone calls, planning and some rough calculations. I might have to prepare a presentation or write a proposal. I might have to troubleshoot a problem providing engineering insight or try to create some innovative idea.
Most aeronautical engineers tend to specialize in one area, maybe two, but you are still always dealing with other disciplines.
Finally, being an aeronautical engineer does not lock you into working with aircraft or spacecraft. You could work for an automanufacturer or any other position a mechanical engineer might hold. Really the sky is the limit.
maintenance mostly, if u are fortunate enough u can get into development and design. they may also end up into design other than air craft
