Is it necessary to do Mechanical Engineering to join aircraft engineering,?
Answer:
I've seen the syllabus for both courses at various colleges. Aerospace Engineering has much of the same coursework, however there are different specialty courses as you near your graduate level.
Just get the overall list for the degree you are interested in from the colleges you look into.
For aircraft engineering subject you need to know mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, etc all the engineering subjects you have to know plus common sense also required.
Based solely on the jobs I've seen posted on Monster.com, mechanical engineer is about the only group the aerospace companies hire. Aerospace has it's function, but I guess the impression is that Finite Element Modeling is the core skill for a lot of these jobs, and the Mechanical Engineers are expected to be more familiar with it.
