What r its advantages over ground supported tanks?
which is the best tank? Intz or conical shaped?
What are difference between shaft staged tanks and column-braced staged tanks?
[Plz tell me above topics as a civil Engineer's point of view.I mean as a civil engineer u explain those structural advantages over other]
I 've lot more douts regarding the tanks.If u ppl clear these fundamental doubts,then i will post some more questions.I hope u ppl will help regarding these doubts.

Answer:
1. Once the height of the support for water tank is increased the the potential energy stored in the water will also increase with datum..
2.Due to increase in height only the water flow velocity will increase when it is opened. Due to high datum level the flow will take place for few kilometers..ie.. Kinetic energy
3.Conical shape is maintained in tank because of efficient stress distribution. Thus the stress ( Load ) will will be distributed along the walls of the conical tank.
4. Conical shape will act as a nozzle and the flow through the nozzle will have decrease in pressure but will have increase in velocity, thus the flow will take place for few kilometers.
I think i have some what cleared ur doubt...
