Wanted to know if chem. engg. has sum scope in india and wat kind of jobs do ppl wid BTech in chem. engg. get?

i've passed 12th dis yr. and would lyk to do Btech,so jst confused abt the branch to go for,have my counselling in jst a few days

there is a good scope for chemical engg. in India they can get the jobs in production,project engg.,process engg.,in consultancies like KPG,JACOBS IND,UHDE,EIL.Also they can get job in R&D centers..
Why do you want to do chemical engineering? Yes, you do have jobs related to this field, but it is not going to help you as an engineer because it is not highly rated in India. You have other branches like ECE, CSE etc. IT is the in thing now. I don't say you do what everybody is doing, but do what is going to secure your career in the future...and my friend put chemical engineering as your last option.
