Using Shockley's diode equation, determine the diode current at fora silicon diode with Is (saturation current) = 0.1 x10-6 A at a reverse-bias potential of -10V. Is the resul expected? Why?

Shockely's equation is I = Is*[e^(Vd/25mV)-1].

Here you have Vd=-10v, so Vd/25mV = -400 and e^-400 is very small compared to 1, so I = Is = 10^-7 A

This is the expected result since the current through a reverse-biased diode is very small, and close to the saturation current.
