How to remove super glu from a metal insert or copper electrode without scratching or damage the surface. Normally i soak overnight with a thinner and used a brass wire brush but it doesnt work. If I use a penknife, it will scratch the surface.
Answer:
the best thing to use on cyanocrylate (super glue) is acetone you will need to apply this several times. It will soften, wipe as much off as you can then repeat, and repeat untill it's clean
Maybe you need some thinner and throw it on it.
Try acetone which can be purchased as nail polish remover.
I know acetone works when it's skin associated. It might work on metal.
Commercial superglue removers based on nitromethane work considerably better than acetone. Apply with a cotton swab, let soak, wipe off, repeat until clean. It is far less likely to ruin plastics and finishes than acetone.
