Precision engineering????

can anyone give me a link to where i can read and understand what really is precision engineering and how it work? get informations like what are the benefits and what is important in precision engineering.. when i search, i can only find informations of companies doing precision engineering.. i dont want to buy their products, i dont want to know informations of all those companies!! stress!!

Answer:
The amount of precision required for a given task varies based on several factors. If you want to make an 8000 Horsepower turboshaft engine, the fit between the moving parts needs to be very precise, often within 0.0005 inch. If you are making a plastic tricycle for a child the hole in the wheel that the axle goes through can be 1/32 inch (.03125 inch) bigger than the axle without causing it to explode.

Making the tricycle wheel to the same precision as a jet engine would get you one very expensive tricycle.
Precision engeneering isn't a method or product, it is based on quality. People who advertise their products to be 'precision engineered' are saying that their product is high quality and will last longer. Also this coould mean that all parts of the product are interchangeable for easier repairs in the future.
