Can you hook up a single phase 110v power feed the on/off switch of a 208 3 phase machine?
Answer:
Yes you can. But, it is not to code. The 208 3 phase Wye has 3 110V legs and must have a neutral to do what you want..
The grammar of that sentence is so off, that I cannot tell exactly what you are asking. I would understand if you corrected the grammar.
No, you must have a 208 volt 3 phase source. If you do not, there are phase converters available, but they aren't cheap. You don't say what kind of machine this is but you might be better off changing out the motor to single phase if you don't have 3 phase available.
John S is right. It would work if you brought the neutral in. But if your 208V motor switch has overload protection, you'll probably start tripping it on overload since it won't be expecting the additional load.
