can anyone describe the profile ( pitch, core diameter, angle etc) and the application of two different thread types on a vehicle?

Too many to pick, but to diverse the subject, you could pick a true engineered Metric/imperial thread from the engine versus a naff self-tapping screw that holds the trim on.
