I need major help. architectural engineering?
Answer:
Actualy, architecture and engineering, though related, are not the same discipline. Architecture is rather broad and includes esthetics, art, urban planning, and project management.
The architect acts as the coordinater for a project. He/she may design a building including a floor plan, selection of certain furnishings and finishes.
The architect then hires a civil engineer to evaluate the building site, and design grading.
The architect then hires a structural engineer to evaluate the building, and design the structure.
The SE looks at local and national building codes to determine such things as the "siesmic zone" in order to calculate the forces that the building needs to be designed to. The SE also needs to get information from the CE that will be used in combination with either high seismic load factors, like in California, or high wind load factors, like Florida, to design a stable structure.
Mechanical and electrical engineers are then called in to look at various factors that will effect the selection of power, ventilation, and plumbing equipment.
