How much does electroplating cost?
I need it to have a matt finish. Is this possible

well not much, if i were you i would nip down on a saturday morning and have a nice word with the chaps doing overtime and im sure they will drop it in for you for a tenner or so.
if you go through the company then it still shouldnt be more than 20-30 quid
Best to just ask a supplier about it. and what kind of plating do you want? just search in an internet engine like Yahoo for what you need, ask their contact people and youll get an answer.

Brass seriously, not that much make sure it's completely free of any dirt the main expense is if they have to start cleaning it for you.
This is too small a job to put a realistic price on. Plating only covers what is there. It doesn't make things shiny or matt. The price will also depend on what material you want and the thickness of the plate. (Leave it in the tank longer and you get a heavier plating) The item in question will need a matt finish before the plating is applied. Sand blasting might do the trick
