Why does electrical engineering major needs a profound comprehension on Maths and Physics?

Answer:
Being an electrician requires difficult calculations every day. An electrician must be able to calculate the load on a circuit based on the devices they are being asked to install. They need to determine loads for motors. They must perform calcualtions to determine if the wire thats being requested can handle the load it will be call on to carry. They even must be able to calculate how many devices can be in an electrical box based on its size.
all engineering majors need a strong background of math and physics.
The reason an electrical engineer needs to be able to comprehend a lot of serious mathematics is because the theory of electicity and magnetism is based greatly on complicated math. In order to design circuits you need to have a good grasp on high order differential equations and the methods used to solve them, as well as understanding system analysis methods using linear algebra, fourier, laplace, and many other mathematical tools. Without this math the equations that define electrical discharge rates, dynamic storage and resistances could not be solved.
Any science major will need math. Engineering can be mathematical, if solving the equations for an adaptive echo canceller, for example.
Electrical engineering has a bit more math, since circuits are described and designed mathematically.
However, like most professions, you don't need to derive the equations yourself, just need to know how to use them. For really complicated problems, like heat flow, or electromagnetic design, a simulator is used to avoid solving the problem analytically.
There is a lot of math in the coursework, but this is learnt the same as in other degrees, by study and practice.
I'm no expert, infact just learning, but from what I can see thus far is overly complicated mathmatics is overated in engineering;becuase really all that seems to be needed is a good grounding and understanding of how algebra works.Things like knowing how to manipuate an equation in order to solve the desired variable.
