Is Frank Lloyd Wright's vision of a mile-high skyscraper feasable in this day and age?

Have technological advancements over the past fifty years given humans the ability to construct a mile-high skyscarper?

Answer:
I think not yet because as of today the highest is still at the 500 meter range, and thats more or less 0.4 miles only. ( Sears Tower @ 527 meters and Taipei 101 @ 509 meters )
YES. I think it is probably possible to make but perhaps it is not economically feasible YET.
