Cud i get admission in a engineering collg. despite having compartment in one subject?

i hav compartment in maths. in +2 non-med & given d competition examz i.e. of iit n aieee.
my aggregate is 60.3%...cud i still get admission in any gud engineering collg. on d basis of my All India Rank...or do i still fulfill d eligibilty criteria?
what other alternate option is dere 4 me despite dropping a year 4 engg. as i want my career.in b.tech only (dat too a respectable collg??
