try subscribing to a few trade magazines, going to trade shows.
the trades have websites, probably ads for training programs.
any environmental studies courses at a community college would also be good.
apprentice yourself (with a local non-compete) to someone respected in the business.

I am not sure if this is relevant, but this website is a British standard org, it has training courses etc. I am not sure if they are internationally recognised tho.
I work in a social enterprise, one of our social firms recycles wood and is doing really well, with the current recycling climate and waste taxes. Go for it!!
