How to set a goal in one's life?
Answer:
You mentioned that you don't really know yourself or have no interest. In such a case, you need to start venturing out and trying out new things; in other words start exploring. And while you are exploring, observe your moods - what made me happy, what excited me and so on. You have to find out what excites you in life and pursue that. For example, if you trying to figure out a career for yourself, list out a few businesses that you wouldn't mind working at - eg. computer programming, disk jockey, radio, marketing etc. Then approach companies that are in this field and talk to their employees and find out more about the job they do and whether it excites you. If it's a personal goal you are seeking, try out some hobbies. The key is to find out what excites you.

Read about what others in your filed have achieved to get some idea. Then you must decide what you want in life before you can set a realistic goal.
For a start, set the goal that somebody else did and accomplished; then increase the achievement level a little further so that you won't be too far from being realistic and won't be a failure. Break up the activity needed into different stages. Figure out to the best of your knowledge, what it takes to achieve each stage and make plans of how to to do it; you will be surprised how many times you will be demanded to come up with creative instant solutions in day to day encounters. Be flexible in your planning. Ask experienced people to gain some specialized knowledge about your kind of activity so that you see some problems ahead of time and figure out solutions. Break down your activity into daily, weekly, and monthly goals and so on.
Setting goals and doing detailed planning in the office is one thing and actually carrying out those plans as closely as possible is another thing because the later takes a lot of self descipline and will power. Good Luck.
