Don't know whether this includes car mechanics at all.
Why not buy an old banger at auction, a haynes manual, and have a go at fixing it up yourself - there's nothing like throwing yourself in at the deep end.
I live near Colne and they have Nelson and Colne College which has 2 sites in each town it is quite a big college so i am sure they do car manufacturing.
