Time in my PC is getting reduced. What may be the problem?
What may be possible reasons for this problem?
Answer:
may be the windows setting time
Maybe your motherboard has a flaw. Get it checked.
If you are experiencing a very slow drift in your clock -- even across on/off cycling of your computer's power -- the 32768Hz oscillator in your RTC (realtime clock) chip may not be as precisely on frequency as it ought to be.
Another cause of drift is the fact that the oscillators in these devices can wander a lot with temperature changes. Dallas even acknowledged that some of their RTC chips can run as much as 2-1/2 minutes/month slow at the extreme of the operating temperature limit.
For the first problem: Having no idea of the maker of your motherboard, I can only tell you that there are a number of RTC chips out there, including the venerable Dallas Semiconductor DS1287 and the Motorola MC146818B. It may not be at all difficult to find this chip and have it replaced my a competent technician.
For the second problem: You may find that adding cooling capacity to your case reduces internal temperatures and allows your RTC to run at a better speed. Likely better for the other parts in there as well unless you've already upgraded your ventilation.
