Which language would be more useful for an engineer?

I am Turkish Metallurgical Engineering student. Which language should I learn besides english? I am currently thinking of Russian and German but I am not sure...

Answer:
In all my years of practicing engineering in the U.S.A. the only times I have ever had a use for a foreign language other than english was when I had a need to translate technical papers.

90% of those were in either written in German or Japanese.
Depends on where you want to work. In Europe, French, German, Spanish, Russian... there are too many languages. If in South America, Spanish will be a good asset. In Canada, French will be useful.
German is the second more used language in the internet. But russian hackers are the best. So I'll recommend German, but if you are into the hacker world, russian may be a better option.
German. They have some of the best metullurgical standards in the world.
Chinese and Korean is popular right now because of the industrial revolution going on there, especially in mechanical engineering.

Metallurgical...i'm not sure.

pick one that is not similar to Turkish.
I would definitely say Russian, for two reasons.

The first reason is that even if you learn German, you will have a very hard time finding work in Germany, or a German speaking area. The reasons for this are because Turkey is not part of the EU, so immigrating there to work as an engineer would be difficult. Also, Germany has a lot of engineers and very well developed infrastructure.

Russian immigration is not necessarily easier than EU immigration, but there is a greater need for engineers. Now that Russia is becoming a wealthier country, they finally have the money to upgrade their infrastructure, which is old and decrepit. They will need a lot of engineers for the thousands of projects that they will be working on in the next few decades. Also, due to Soviet control for so many years, many countries around Russia speak Russian, either as there primary language or as an important secondary language. They all face the same poor infrastructure problems as Russia, or worse.
Being myself fluent in both languages I recommend them both. Simply think of learnig [languages] like doing ordinary things. My advice: try to learn [and to sing] a dozen of song in both languages before starting grammar, orthography, vocabulary. Yuo can choose between traditional songs, modern entertainment. classical aria ...
Very important to me is the option to look eastward: choose one language their: Chines, Japanese, Korean, Hindi,...
