What will the future of space propulsion look like?



Answer:
For surface to low orbit, chemical rockets will continue to be the rule; drives with high specific impulse require too much energy for that mission. For orbit to other planets, I expect that ion drives will eventually be used -- but not for a while yet; the power sources for such aren't good enough.
