Electricity problems!?

What happens if u connect 110v electric product into 220v, the product i got from usa has 110 but i connect in 220 in UK, is it broken? can I fix it??

thanks

Answer:
Depends what the product is. If it has an internal fuse or overload protection, it may be okay. Otherwise, it's been toasted. Trash.
chuck it
You will burn out the motor if it got one.
I did this not thinking to change the setting,it just blew.Throw it out ,an electrician told me it was useless and would never work.
Chances are you've cooked the insides of whatever it was you connected. Doubtful if it is repairable! Get someone to look at it though.
The product probably tried to draw twice the current to make up for the lack of voltage, and fried itself.

If this product is worth over a few US$100, then it might be worth repairing. If it is worth less than US$100, then it is not worth repairing.
.
Depends on the product. However unless you know some one who understands electricity, I wouldn't try it again.
