Can it be possible for someone to major in Comp Science or Computer Engineering having weaknesses in Sci+Math?
Answer:
If you are discouraged because you feel you have a weakness in Sci and Math...instead of just saying "forget it", what you should do is study your butt off in these subjects.
I am 27 years old and a Comp Engineering major. After high school, I joined the Air Force and now I am out and back in school. I didn't have math for 10 years and I placed into Algebra 2. I have to take 9 math classes to satisfy the math requirement (all the way up past Calc). But you know what? I don't care. Nothing is going to stop me. I can take classes during winter and summer too so that cuts down on the time it will take.
You can achieve anything you want in life. It is normal when a person is faced with difficutly just to throw their hands up and quit.
Study, study, study. You can and will do it!
in science yes in math no.
IF you can get past the classes(?) you will be ok. In real life you can use software and other ways to find what you need.Heck if you did everything the long way you wouldn't last long :P
learn to program. not much math.

comp sci/comp engg by themselves dont need the same level of math as, many other engg disciplines, such as mechanical or aero.
comp sci deals more with algorithms, efficiency, retrieval techniques etc. rather than pure math. But of course, your program may have mandatory math/sci courses to take.
comp engg has a hardware component to it. If you study heat transfer & fluid mechanics (for keeping your chips cool), that has a significant amount of math theory. If you have physics and EE requirements in electricity and magentism for your comp engg degree, that would also have a fair amount of math.
Bottom line - make your first priority - Getting into a field that you enjoy and keeping abreast with technology.
Simpy put, no you cannot make it in a computer science or computer engineering program with a math/science weakness. ALL engineering majors must take all 4 calculus' (Calc I and II, Vector Calc, and Differetial Equations) and with computer engineering you must take several programing classes that are totally algorithims (which is all math). In addition, ALL engineering majors must take both engineering physics, both chemistry's, and usually another lab elective.
i dont think so
