Difference machining center and turning center?
Answer:
There are two traditional models of machining.
Turning involves turning the work piece and passing a cutting tool across it. The cutting tool moves in a two dimensional plane that passes through the axis of rotation.
Milling involves moving a rotating cutter across a stationary work piece.
Modern Machining centers often combine elements of both.
Turning centre only turn or remove material from round objects or materials.Machining centres includes turning drilling ,boring etc.
Machining Center: Refers to a Bed Type, CNC Machine, usually with a full enclousre, and an automatic tool changer.
These machines take the raw material, cut, dril, bore and remove matierial, as the table on the bed, move right to left, and in/out and the head moves up or down, (3-axis)
Turning Center: is commonly refer's to a Lathe. Lathes have a spindle, that moves like a carousel, in clock wise and counter-clock wise direction. this has the tool come into the raw matterial, and removes the material, as it turns.
Re-cap: Machining Center: raw material is stationary, while Turning Center: raw material turns in a clock-wise or counter-clock-wise motion.
