MiG aluminum welding technique, is the flat weld performed by pushing or pulling the weld pool ?

I have lots of mild steel mig experience but no aluminum mig experience. I have a weld test at a company in a few days and wondering which direction the travel speed should go.

Any information is muchly appreciated. thanks

Answer:
You should get some practice before a test. But here are tips.

According to RUSS M's website, it's a push.

I just finished a Welding 101 class but didn't get to do any MIG or TIG, just Oxy Acetylene and Arc welding using 6010 rod.

Thanks for the refresher.
In general, the heat goes in the direction you point the torch. So, it is usually best to point the torch slightly in the direction in which you are heading, so as to 'pre-heat' the next section. Angling the torch makes for better visibility, of course, so is preferred over holding the torch vertically.
