In india an information technology engg can earn how much?

Answer:
As an employee, it would depend on location and type of employer. Multi national companies are paying up to Rs100,000 per month for good people in places like Bangalore, Chennai, and Delhi.

But don't think it's easy to get a job. It's not.

There are many jobs available, but the usual system of corruption and power, means that you'd have to be handing bribes out right left and centre, with no assurances of anything.

Those IT engineers who are able to take the leap into setting up their own businesses can earn a lot more compared to an employee.

Also, due to the employment laws in india, you won't get a job as we know it in the West, you will only get a fixed term contract (6 months, 1 year, maybe 2 years sometimes), although the employer will renew if he wants to keep you.

It is a fast moving industry, and employers are in it for the killing, not for the long term benefit to the employee, as has been the case in government owned industries, and some more traditional industries that know they are in it for the long term, and need to build a reputation with customers, suppliers and employees; a culture to get the employees on side, and be synonymous with solid reliability.

Look at Tata Motors, they pay less than the new kids on the block (multi-nationals), but there is a big queue of people wanting to work for them.

About 20% of what they'd earn in the UK.very exploitative and greedy from the companies who employ them.
