What is the best heat transfer model for rocketry?

Turbulent Convective heat transfer or FEA model of an infinte plate?

Answer:
What are you trying to model on the rocket? The heat from the exhaust as it would transfer to the rocket, I would assume. One problem is where the heat load actually occurs. For solid rockets, a simple assumption is that heat is generated on the exposed solid surface. The exhaust would then transfer some of the thermal energy in the gases generated out through the rocket.

Liquid fuel rockets would be a different story since the reaction occurs when the fuel is mixed. I'd say in this case turbulent convective heat transfer might be a better solution.

I need to give this one some thought overnight, though.
Baby.
