Im trying to build a ski jump for a project.its due on Monday May 28, 2007 and the guidlines are that the track itself can only be 60 cm long max and the standard marble has to travel down the ski jump and fly horizantally in the air and land at 1.5 meters or more.
Please help Im having difficulty like can someone tell me what material would work and what way to shape it? I am trying to use tygon hose but its not working I think the glass and rubber together is no good.
We cannot power the marble in any way, shape or form...I just have to drop it and it has to go.
Please help!
Answer:
First of all, no resistive material (such as tygon tubing, plastic, etc.) The first phase should take advantage of gravity (ie 45 degrees or less) and the lift itself should be no more than about 75% off the jump. You'll have to experiment on your own for maximum efficiency with the materials you choose. Good luck!
