How to work out the amount of uk gallons within a cylinder/vessel?

if i had a tank say 1.6 diam and 6mts long how many gallons would it hold could someone actually write the method down for me many thanks

Answer:
Radius = 0.8m x 3.28 = 2.624 feet. 6m x 3.28 = 19.68 feet.
For gallons of water...
3.14 x 2.624 x 2.624 x 19.68 = 425.5 ft³.
1ft³ = 6.24 UK gallons.
425.5 ft³ x 6.24 gal/ft³ = 2,655 UK (Imperial) gallons of water.

(For any other liquid, multiply gallons by its Specific Gravity).
your best bet is weights and measures, in your country they know everything of that nature
Work out the volume of the cylinder in cubic metres
PI * Diameter * Length
Then Multiply the result by 219.96 Which is the numer of UK Gallons in a cubic Metre
Calculate the volume in cubic meters, then use a conversion website to find your answer. Here's the one I use:
