Should any current flow into the Earth Electrode, from Neutral of a distribution Transformer ?
Answer:
This probably due to unbalance.
What u need to do is to redistribute the loads such that more balance will be between all 3 phases.
And yes there should be current flow in the earth electrode as long as it is connected to the neutral because there is now way to have perfect balance.
In my opinion if the current in neutral due to unbalance is 5% of the current drawn by the phase ,that will be good
And anyway any distribution transformer is usually rated from 0.5 to 1MVA which can supply from 3 to 9 buildings so the total current drawn at the low voltage side will be not less than 1000A so if u have 10A in neutral it's nothing
You are not telling me what the actual problem is . What is the trans former feeding, and what colony is it feeding and how large is the colony and how many amps does it require to feed the colony. How many amps does the trans former need to operate itself in order to transform the electric current to the colony?
