Considered the most difficult of the engineering disciplines. However, after attaining the degree, you can work in almost any field of engineering. Chemical engineers make excellent project managers because of their broad knowledge of engineering and pure sciences Excellent salary potential, too.

At our school at least, it was the only discipline where the number of women is higher than the number of men. An excellent bonus when compared to other engineering diciplines.
For me, Chemical engineering was a great choice. There are areas that use Chem E's and the range of job possibillites is quite impressive. Specializing in a particular disciple, like polymers or biomedical, does help in the job market. (I went with Polymers). The schooling can be tough and there is still a lot to learn once you are out in the real world. Best of luck!
