What are the types of 3phase induction motors?, list them?
Answer:
There are only two type, squirrel cage and wound rotor.
The most common type of 3-phase induction motor is the cage rotor or squirrel cage motor. Squirrel cage motors are made in a number of designs according to IEC standards and NEMA standards. The NEMA B design and its IEC equivalent is the most common. There are also designs with higher starting torque and higher slip. The torque vs. speed curves show the differences among the designs.
Wound rotor induction motors have slip rings for inserting resistance and or control circuitry in the rotor circuit.

You did leave your homework late.
Chass EE has given a good explanation. The cage rotor type consists of a single-phase or three-phase stator winding. The rotor winding are bars threaded through slots and braised on two end rings (one on either side). The end rings sometimes act as cooling fans. Larger cage rotors may have two cage windings, one which gives a high starting torque and the other gives a high running torque. Wound rotor induction motors have three-phase windings terminated on to 3 or 4 slip-rings. Resistances are added to the rotor windings to reduce the starting current. When the motor is running the slip-rings are short circuited. Cage rotor type are more robust but the starting current is very high.
