Can someone tell me-in US, light bulb using how many volts? 120v or 240v?
Answer:
typically everything common in the US is 120v, certain larger items run 240v like a clothes drier or air conditioner.
every lightbulb i have ever used was 120v, but there may be 240 for certain industrial applications
120v is the power at a normal wall outlet so I image that is it.
A standard light socket is powered from a 120V source.
different lightbulbs use different amounts of volts and have different wattages, it depends what type of light bulb it is and where it is going to be put, if you are trying to figure out what a certain lightbulb is that you have then try looking on the bulb, most bulbs have some small print that says the number of volts and watts of that bulb
120 V
Even inside of 240V appliances, the light bulbs only use 1/2 of the 240V (=120V).
